NO.1: China’s furniture exports increased by 20.4% year-on-year in the first four months.

According to recent data released by the General Administration of Customs, China’s furniture exports surged by 20.4% to 168.55 billion yuan from January to April 2024, reaching a historical high for the same period. In April alone, there was a month-on-month increase of 12.6%. Overall, in the first four months of this year, China’s total import and export value reached 13.81 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.7% year-on-year.

 

NO.2: CCA: 6582 complaints on furniture products in the first quarter

According to the latest data released by the China Consumers Association, in the first quarter of this year, there were 5224 complaints in the category of housing and building materials, accounting for 1.51% of the total complaints, a decrease of 1.2 percentage points year-on-year, ranking seventh in terms of complaints. Specifically for furniture product complaints, there were 6582 cases, a decrease of 8.25% year-on-year, ranking ninth in terms of complaints. In terms of service categories, complaints related to housing decoration and property services amounted to 4325 cases, accounting for 1.25% of the total complaints, a decrease of 0.43% year-on-year, ranking ninth.

 

NO.3: Imports and exports of ceramic tiles decreased by 1.23% in the first quarter

In the first three months of 2024, China’s total imports and exports of ceramic tiles amounted to 948 million US dollars, a decrease of 1.23% year-on-year. Among them, the total export value was 930 million US dollars, a decrease of 0.71% year-on-year, while the total import value of ceramic tiles was 17.2137 million US dollars, a decrease of 22.92%.

 

NO.4: Zhejiang furniture industry’s performance report for the first quarter

In the first quarter of this year, Zhejiang Province’s above-scale furniture enterprises achieved a cumulative output of 69.3588 million pieces, an increase of 13.4% year-on-year; they also achieved a total industrial output value of 27.876 billion yuan, an increase of 16.8% year-on-year. According to statistics, from January to March, above-scale furniture enterprises in the province had operating profits of 866 million yuan, a growth of 32.7%; operating income of 28.525 billion yuan, a growth of 15.1%; and operating costs of 23.28 billion yuan, a growth of 15.5%. There were 538 loss-making enterprises, a decrease of 4.6% year-on-year, with losses amounting to 608 million yuan, a decrease of 10.2%.

 

NO.5: Financial reports for 152 listed building materials and home furnishing companies for 2023 released

The financial report season for 2023 has ended, with financial reports from 152 listed building materials and home furnishing companies already released. According to statistics, in the first three quarters of 2023, there were 63 listed companies in the building materials and home furnishing industry with declining revenue, and 28 companies recorded losses. The decline in revenue was somewhat mitigated compared to the previous two years.

On May 6th, the third National Green Smart Home Consumption Festival opened at the Beijing Tongzhou store of Juran Home.
